Remember that to-hope list from a few days ago? yeah, I am already going off tangent as I cast on Beatnik (free) by Norah Gaughan. How could this gorgeous pattern fall out of my radar (duh…). I normally avoid cable because it is too overwhelming but this one definitely fits my petite frame and it looks totally chic. Of course, the awesome styling and modeling helps. But another important reason is I am dying to find a good pattern for the Berocco Inca yarn that I recycled from the Diminishing Rib Cardigan.
By the way, there’s a Beatnik knit along starting right now and the host Allyson is knitting in round, a good chance to learn how to convert a pattern.
Aside from Beatnik, I have Emelie and Paperdolls lined up as far as yarn goes. As a matter of fact, I have about an inch on Emelie’s ribbing. It’s going to be a great knitting year, I can feel it. I need to instill the same spirit on my sewing mojo. I am hoping to resume Lady Grey this weekend (fingers crossed).
And oh, speaking about sewing, four great seamstresses are currently hosting four great sewalongs. Crepe Dress hosted by Gertie started before christmas but Trouser by Sunni, Pendrell Blouse by Tasia and Vintage Swing Dress by Casey just get started. I really wish I have the bandwidth to join.
