In my company, every sales person is supposed to register his/her deal pipeline, work through it and update the status (close deal, lost deal etc etc). In my crafting world, I am very good with creating project pipeline but pretty bad at keeping track and follow through. So, I am not going to keep a long list of to-do anymore. That way I won’t have too much pressure. Anyway, these are what I am working on at this moment.
This is a photo from last week. It is a bottom-up cardigan and I am now about 5″ up. I got a lot done in the car while Mr. Su drove us down to Santa Barbara (about 9 hours round trip) this past weekend. The yarn is Malabrigo Lace. I am dying to knit with Malabrigo since I’ve heard such a great review about it. Surprisingly, this luxury yarn is quite affordable. The pattern only needs 2 skeins and it’s $10/skein. not bad heh?
On the sewing side, I am going to join the Lady Grey Sew Along hosted by Gertie.
It’s such an ambitious endeavor, which is why it’s better that I attempt it with my fellow seamstresses out there. I placed an order for the fabric
This is an Italian Tweed purchased from Gorgeous Fabrics
I got the pattern last week and am reading Tailoring: the Classic Guide to Sewing the Perfect Jacket to prepare myself.
I still need to buy the lining fabrics and muslin. Mr. Su will be out of town this weekend, so I will have plenty of time to work on the muslin (while juggling a few social commitments as well). I am really really excited.
Another exciting thing is that I will be taking a pattern drafting class in my local sewing shop. I got the supply list in the mail yesterday and it’s going to be a blast. Last but not least, my birthday is next Monday and Mr. Su agrees that my birthday gift can be a serger…woot…woot. I can definitely live without it but it’ll make my garment looks more professional and help overcome my fear working with knit material. I plan to stop by the local dealer and try out a few brands.
