Part 1 is here
I have made some progress in my sewing room set-up. The most exciting part is I was able to resurrect the failing bookshelves that was about to be donated. To recap, it was the IKEA black bookshelves that I painted white but then the paint peeled because the surface was too smooth
Then I saw this post from The Home in Paradise and decided to give this bookcase a second chance. After all, I need to conserve cash because we still need to furnish the rest of the house. Anyway, I had some drawer liner leftover and used it cover up the ugliness. Tadaaa, it now looks like this
Not too shabby, eh?
Ok, the story went like this. I had a ton of quilting cotton and would like to save some money so why not make them myself. It turned out that buying the heavy stabilizer and the time spent sewing are more than the cost of buying the ready-made from Target. But oh well, I got to bust my stash.
Next, on my to-do list
1. Sew a few smaller boxes to store my sewing patterns
2. Sew liners for the wire baskets on lower shelve of the cutting table
3. Frame some fun fabrics and posters for the wall
4. Revamp my existing cork board
That’s it folks, hope you have a great week ahead 🙂
