Webs finally shipped my yarn, yay. In the meantime, I am happily knitting my MIL’s scarf, I got about half a yard going. Though my belated new year’s resolution is to use up my stash (yarn, fabrics, patterns etc), I don’t mind leading myself into temptation by checking out new sewing pattern releases.
I love the jacket, so spring-y. The knit dress too. I guess I just can’t resist Cynthia Rowley collection. Though, I must admit, I have not had a chance to sew any of her patterns. Mimi Godwin reviewed both the jacket and dress. Check it out.
I love skirts and I can’t resist this. The design is clean and simple, perfect for work.
I love love this dress but I think the pattern is currently unavailable. Heather Bailey created it to promote her new fabric line Nicey Jane. I hope she will release this pattern soon.
On a slightly different note, I am excited about Indonesian batik from Tasikmalaya, West Java. Amesh from Dreamesh is selling this Indonesian beauty.
Growing up in Indonesia, I did not appreciate batik that much. I thought of it as something that only my mom would wear. In recent years, there has been a national efforts to change that perception and get more people to include batik in their everyday wardrobe. I don’t know too much about batik and would like to learn more about this national treasure.
Lastly, I am mad about plaid. Check out Darling Dexter plaid shirt dress. I want, I want, but I can’t shop now. Her mom owns an etsy shop and carry the plaid. One more thing, Oh Fransson is hosting a paintbox block quilt along. Elizabeth is extremely thorough with her tutorials, she is such a great teacher. She hosted another quilt along in the past. I wish I had the time and budget to do this quilt along. For now, I am just salivating over it.
