My friend, Heaven, just got back from Korea and brought me two cute sewing books. I love love them, Korean knows how to do cute too.
The first one is a garment sewing book, it is called the Joy of Making. It consists of twenty some outfits for me and the man. But, I am just going to show you the stuffs that I might make for myself, selfish eh? They are so cute, dreamy and to die for. It also helps that the photography and styling are top-notch
I like this simple and dreamy white shirt
And the linen summer skirt
This cute shirt dress
The second book is more like a hand sewing zakka book. It is divided into stuffs for kitchen, baby, craft room, home etc. Here is the cover
Variety of pouch bags
Linen wall pocket
And finally cute baby shoes
Problem is, truly yours does not read nor understand Korean. Luckily, Heaven not only speaks Korean but she was a textile major in college. That means, she knows how to sew and can help me translate.
On a totally different note, here is my Farmer’s Market Cardigan progress. I finished decreasing the waist and about to increase the waist and shape the neck and armhole. I am eager to complete this sweater in time to wear it on christmas day. So far, it’s been straight forward but I think the next steps will be tricky and the pattern is four-page long. Go figure.
I have laid out fun-packed activities to for next week since I am off work for a week. Tomorrow, I am going to have dimsum with friends in San Francisco followed by fabric shopping at Peapod Fabrics (they close at 3 pm so I have to time myself right) and Renegade Craft Fair at the Fort Mason Center
On weekdays, while the man is working, I am going to sew and knit. Hopefully it will be a productive crafting week. I set myself an ambitious goal of sewing tote bag and crayon case plus knitting an amigurumi for my nieces’ christmas gifts. Hopefully, it will work out. Otherwise, Target is just around the corner. Other than that, We are going to see Wicked on Monday night and get together with my SIL on christmas day. I also plan to finish reading a book or two. I am currently reading Sister of My Heart for the book club and re-reading Pride and Prejudice. Hope your weekends are fun-filled and warm.
