Today, I joined millions other Americans who went through the hassle of holiday traveling to spend time with the loved ones. We drove down to Southern California this morning to spend thanksgiving with my MIL and SIL. I am a little sad that my SIL, whom i enjoy hanging out with, is moving to North Carolina to be a professor at UNC
The drive was not so bad and we hit LA in six hours. I worked on this on the way while listening to four episodes of This American Life and one episode of Scarlett Letter from Craftlit Podcast. It is my travel project because of its portability. I finished one sock while travelling across Italy and Spain two months ago and haven’t worked on it since. Partly because I have second sock syndrome. I am just not excited to work on the second one after the first one is done. Hiding it in the UFO bin for a while helps reignite that enthusiasm. Nevertheless, I love knitting socks especially in winter.
Anyway, I would like to count my blessings and am thankful for
– a loving husband
– my family and friends
– still having a job
– the joy and happiness from sewing and knitting. Some people said TiVo changes their life. In my case, it is sewing/knitting because they bring with them countless joy and happiness. I enjoy learning new techniques, taking up new challenges and planning and finishing a project. Knitting/sewing also relaxes me after a long day at work. I love love reading blogs and see what other people are designing/working on. Blogs definitely introduce me to a totally different world i didn’t know exist. I am thankful for those bloggers out there who spend hours putting up tutorials on the web, answering my questions, or simply sharing what they are up to. Kudos to all craft bloggers out there !
Alrighty, time to hit the sack. I need to catch up on my sleep because I stayed up late last night to finish the sweater for Jayden. But the real reason is I want to wake up early and hit the textile district first thing in the morning.
