OMG, it is been a while since I pay a visit to my blog? Life really gets in the way. I have a lot to share and show but I simply don’t have the time and energy because Mr. Su and I are expecting a baby in January. That’s right, I am finally pregnant (we’ve been trying for almost a year now). As of today, I am about 17 weeks along and I feel great. My apology to those moms out there who have terrible morning sickness because I have none of that, thank God. I don’t feel particularly more fatigue than usual either. My only concern is I have not gained much weight, I hope that will change soon.
With that news, I really have not sewn or knit anything for myself. The focus has shifted to making stuffs for the baby. First up are these tiny cardigan and beanie. I don’t know whether I am having a boy or a girl but I am just practical and would like to use up my stash. Hence, these blue cardi and beanie.
Pattern: Jacket with Moss Stitch Bands from Debbie Bliss’ Baby Knit for Beginners
Simple Beanie from Erika Knights’ Natural Knit Nursery
Size: smallest for newborn
Yarn: 2 Ball of Cotton Sesia. This is a special yarn coz I bought it on our last trip to Rome two years ago
Knitting for baby is very quick, even before I have chance to become bored I am already done knitting it. It came out so tiny but the dimensions match what describe in the pattern. Some friends told me to knit 3 – 6 months as some babies just grow so much the first few months. I might do that with the next sweater.
Another stash buster project that I did is a baby rattle. If my baby is a boy, please forgive your mama for giving you a pink rattle
Pattern: Rabbit Rattle from the Natural Nursery Knits
Yarn: Less than half a ball of Rowan Purelife Organic Cotton DK
I was a bit apprehensive about knitting toys, my last venture did not come out cute. This rattle is ok, it could be better but hey, stash buster is always good right? I don’t quite like how the face turns out, hope the baby likes it though

Oh, congratulations on your pregnancy! I’m glad you had success! I too am expecting and it took longer than we expected to get pregnant this second time. Happy times for us. Yay for baby knitting. Love that little sweater and the baby won’t care what color the rabbit is. They will only care if they can get it in their mouth. LOL.
congratsssssss!!!
January baby wowow perfect timing to wear all those adorable knitted goodies

Congratulations! I gained 45 pounds because I ate a bunch as soon as I found out. Really, I think 25-30 pounds is fine. You have plenty of time to gain the weight. Enjoy your happy pregnancy – it is a great blessing for sure! I didn’t have morning sickness or other symptoms either. My co-worker who was 5 months behind me has some horrible symptoms.
Thank you so much for your best wishes
I know I’m a little late, but Congratulations!!
