Another projects off my needles, the belated christmas gift for my MIL, the Moss Stitch Scarf and Fetching Fingerless Mitt
Patterns: Moss Stitch Scarf and Fetching Fingerless Mitt
Yarn: Cascade Venezia worsted in Lilac (MIL’s favorite color)
Needle: Size 7
Modification: none
If I were to do it again, I would knit the scarf in a chunkier yarn and use a smaller needle on the mitt
I chose Cascade Venezia (blend of silk and merino) because I want to make sure the end products are not itchy. It won’t be good if the dear MIL is not please with the results
I am so glad I am done with the scarf, it was so boring. On a brighter side, I managed to read a few chapters of Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities and finished reading Sister of My Heart (what a surprising ending) while knitting the scarf. The mitten was fun to knit and it is my first pair. Though I must say, the thumb part was tricky. I don’t think I had it right but as long as it is not visible, I let it go. When I removed the scrap yarn, and joined and top and bottom stitches plus picked up a few stitches along the way, the thumb was not really fully attached to the main mitt. So after I worked in round for four rows and bind off, I seamed the thumb to the main mitt so the hole was invisible.
A closer look at the mitt

I like your black jacket that you are wearing in the photo. Is it handknit?
Thanks Lily. Unfortunately it is not hand knit, I bought it from Ted Baker 5 years ago. Hmmmm, I could use it and try to design my own huh?
